Psoriasis is among the most common skin diseases whose correct diagnosis is based on the presence of characteristic clinical features.
The basic complementary examination in diagnostically uncertain cases is skin biopsy. Recent knowledge on the aetiopathogenesis of
this disease has provided the basis for a more targeted therapy which has recently been available particularly in the form of systemically
administered biological agents. Using modern therapeutic strategies, it is currently possible to control the course of this chronic
inflammatory condition and to significantly improve the quality of life of patients.
