Seasons of the year are characterized by a repeated, regular change of the weather. Air humidity and temperature are one of the basic factors that change during the year. Change of the weather is perceived individually by each person. The development of dry skin depends on the action of extrinsic and intrinsic factors. When the integrity of the skin surface is impaired or the skin is not sufficiently hydrated, its barrier function is limited. The skin becomes dehydrated and rough, losing its glossy appearance.

The issue of leg ulcers is very extensive and clearly interdisciplinary. Early diagnosis with a precise determination of etiology is essential for successful treatment. The treatment of chronic lower limb wounds, including leg ulcers, should be comprehensive and tailored to the individual while using modern dressing techniques. Also suitable are old methods made new (larval therapy) and, when indicated, plastic surgical procedures that may be used to accelerate the healing of skin defects while improving the quality of life of patients with a good costeffectiveness. The present paper provides an overview of the therapeutic options and their...

Tumor recurrences of cutaneous basal cell carcinoma (BCC) represent a relatively frequent and therapeutically often difficult phenomenon in clinical practice. Although their reliable prediction is very limited on the basis of routine demographical, clinical and histopathological parameters, some of them may indicate an increased likelihood of tumor relapse. In general, the risk factors for BCC recurrences can by cathegorized into tumor-related parameters and patient-related parameters. The first group primarily includes anatomical location and histological type of carcinoma, tumor size and the extent of its invasion, or the number of tumor...

The disease is permanently progressive but after treatment interruption relapses are common. We describe a case of 51-year-old woman successfully treated with combination of cefuroxim axetil, clindamycin and zinc sulfate.

Currently, there is no satisfactory method of vitiligo treatment; however, numerous clinical and research trials yield knowledge on aetiopathogenesis that contributes to developing therapeutic strategies. The mainstay of comprehensive treatment is patient examination and ruling out comorbid autoimmune and endocrine conditions, frequently found in vitiligo. Treatment with topical immunomodulators in combination with 311 nm UVB phototherapy or 308 nm excimer laser commonly results in a satisfactory therapeutic outcome. Surgical methods are also applicable. Patient education, photoprotection by depigmentation and supportive psychotherapy are all...
