Of the worldwide 199 627 new cases of malignant melanoma (MM) based in Globocan (IARC) are declared 84.7 % cases in more developed
and 15.3 % in less developed regions, 69 387 in the European Union and 2 034 in the Czech Republic in 2008; of the worldwide 46 372
melanoma deaths there were 67.9 % in more developed and 32.1 % in less developed regions, 14 243 in the European Union and 349
in the Czech Republic. In 2030 the expected new cases can reach more than 327 thousands of MM in the world, increased by 29.2 % in
males and 16.2 % in females in more developed, by 81.8 % in males and 81 % in females in less developed regions, respectively by 24.1 %
and 14.3 % in the European Union, by 35.1 % and 27.8 % in the Czech Republic. In the age of 65 years and more the worldwide new cases
increase by 7.5 % in males and 7.8 % in females, by 10.8 % and 9.5 % in the Czech Republic. In 2008 the Czech males achieved the tenth
and females fourteenth higher value of cumulative risk of MM of 184 countries. The numbers of MM based in Globocan were higher
by 156 new cases than in the Czech Cancer Registry in 2008. The health care for 172 thousands of males and 155 thousands of females,
newly diagnosed MM in 2030 in the world will require skilled support of developed countries for population in endangered regions.
These expected numbers may not be achieved if the personal responsibility for UV protection will be improved.
